Jim Simpson, Dr.

Experience:
Jim is currently consulting in quantitative and statistical methods, operations research and data analytics. He has devoted his career to the analysis, research, teaching, consulting, and mentoring of quality engineering and applied statistical methods. Most recently he served as the chief operations analyst for the Air Force’s largest operational test wing, which tests and evaluates all Combat Air Force aircraft, including all the service’s fighters, bombers and remotely piloted aircraft. Prior to that position he served back-to-back appointments as faculty, first in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the US Air Force Academy and then in the Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Department at Florida State University. He is a recognized scholar and professor in industrial statistics, design of experiments, response surfaces, optimization, and statistical quality control. He has consulted with dozens of organizations and has taught over 100 week-long short courses in applied statistics and experimental design.
