This screen is the spreadsheet of the runs in the design. The main purpose is to provide a table defining each run’s settings and a place to record results of the experiment as responses.
The information on this screen can be edited and the analysis will reflect the changes.
Double-click on a column header to sort by that column, double-clicking again will reverse the sort order.
Left-click on individual column or row headers or in cells to select it.
Right-click on column or row headers or in cells to access advanced functions.
The Select button is in the upper-left corner of the spreadsheet where the column and row headers intersect.
Similar to most spreadsheets, a left-click on the Select button will select all cells (row and columns) in the spreadsheet. A right-click in the highlighted area and choose “Copy with Headings” to copy and paste to another spreadsheet.
Within the software, right-click on the Select button to show a column or change the default columns shown when a new design is built. “Display all” turns on all the columns.
Std Order or standard order is an index used to form designs that always have the same run settings. Sorting by standard order sorts the factors settings in a low to high pattern. It is only presented out of convenience for standard designs; the design will be sorted by run number by default.
Design ID is hidden by default. It is used to index the unique runs in a design. Runs with same ID are replicates.
Block will appear if a design is built with blocks. It behaves like a categoric factor column. Having more than one block creates extra block information in the analysis. Blocks are assigned in the order specified and cannot be automatically randomized.
Group will appear when the design is built with hard-to-change (HTC) factors. HTC factor levels are grouped together and identified by the group number. Group numbers are randomly assigned within the design within the blocks.
Run Order is assigned randomly within the design, blocks and groups.
Build Point Type is hidden by default. It is primarily used to show how the optimal algorithm chose model, lack-of-fit and replicates in the design.
Space Point Type is hidden by default. It provides a standard label to describe the geometric location of a run in space. The run will be “Unknown” if modified by a user including historical designs.
Row Status is hidden by default but represented by the font style of the run. It is used to indicate how the analysis will treat each run. Possible statuses are Normal, Highlighted, Ignored, and Verification. Normal and Highlighted runs are used to fit the model. Runs can be highlighted by the experimenter to make them stand out on reports and graphs. Ignored runs are functionally removed from the analysis without actually deleting them. Verification runs are not used to fit the model, but are displayable on the diagnostic reports. Any status can can be displayed on graphs.
Comments is hidden by default. If a run has a comment there will be an “*” in the row header. Use the Select button to show the comments column. Comments will appear in the graph legend when a run is selected.
