This screen provides tools to confirm results from any modeled response. Generally, this will be done after Numerical optimization sets the confirmation location to the number 1 solution. However, other locations can be established via the Factors tab. If a location lines up with an actual run, the Observed response will display in the Confirmation table.
Before entering any Response data, the Confirmation table shows the 95% (or other percent as preferred) prediction interval (PI) for n of 1 (an individual run). The PI narrows as multiple runs get entered, eventually reaching a limit set by the confidence interval (CI) presented in the Point Prediction screen at the same location.
The Data Mean becomes bold and turns red when outside the PI—indicating a failure to confirm the model.
